Celtic Animals

Drawings and paintings of Celtic animals from various art patterns and designs, books, and internet sources. The early Celtic motifs such as knotwork interlacing and spirals appear. Mirror symmetry is also a feature. Many of the animal images we see today were created by the monks in a scriptorium in a Medieval monastery. Illuminated manuscripts like the Book of Kells are famous for the unique animal, bird, decorated letters, and figure motifs. Nothing else matched the ability and imagination of the monastery monks at this time in Europe.
